Changing Task Running Conditions on Vista

Although this process can be used for general purpose, it is intended for users of my Broadband Scheduler program who use it on laptops.

Start Task Scheduler by going to Start > Accessories > System Tools & clicking on Task Scheduler

open-task-scheduler

In Task Scheduler, Select Task Scheduler Library from the left pane.

select-task-scheduler-library

You should be able to see four tasks prefixed with “BBScheduler_”.

task-list

Open each task by either double-clicking the task or selecting the task and clicking on “Properties” on the right-pane titled Actions. In the new window, open the fourth tab (Conditions) and under the Power section, you should be able to see a checkbox with text “Start the task only if the computer is on AC power”.

Just uncheck that checkbox and click OK.

Repeat the above steps for all the tasks created using Broadband Scheduler(i.e. the tasks prefixed with “BBScheduler_”)
